The Unitarian Society of Ridgewood Racial Justice Team promotes racial justice and multiculturalism and acts to dismantle racism and other oppressions within ourselves, our congregation, and in our communities through partnerships with others.

In 2002, the congregation at the Unitarian Society of Ridgewood passed a Commitment to Anti-Racism. In keeping with this action, the display of a Black Lives Matter banner was approved in 2016. The work of Racial Justice is ongoing and carried out by the Racial Justice Team in cooperation with the Minister and committed congregants.​ Members of The Racial Justice Team has two active representatives  on  The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Committee of Ridgewood & Glen Rock.

The Racial Justice Team partners  with the Paterson Education Fund, Paterson Reads and the Central Unitarian Church to continue the popular Book Bundles program, started by Paterson Alliance.  This program supports Paterson Reads' mission that all Paterson students will read on grade level by 3rd grade. Twice per year,  2 - 3 books are donated to children in a specific Paterson program for them to take home to read.  
The team also continues the long term support that USR has been giving to Youth Development Program, CAMP YDP in Paterson.  CAMP YDP has a full day preschool, after school enrichment program and full day summer camp.  CAMP believes:  Demographics does not determine destiny.

The Racial Justice Team has been focusing on the long term work of reparations in New Jersey.  The Team has had programs that address the Report From the New Jersey Reparations Council:  FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS:  THE NOWNESS OF REPARATIONS FOR BLACK PEOLE IN NEW JERSEY, June, 2025.
