Action Alert

UU Faith Action Reproductive Justice Task Force

On October 3 Governor Murphy and coalition partners, including Thrive NJ, a statewide coalition of organizations working to promote sexual and reproductive health, and UU Faith Action,  announced the introduction of the Reproductive Freedom Act. The Reproductive Freedom Act upholds basic rights and justice, and respects and protects decision -making throughout pregnancy for all people regardless of race, class, sexuality, ability, gender orientation or citizenship status.  The bill includes access to birth control and pregnancy-related care as well as abortion by breaking down medically-unnecessary restrictions that only serve to block access to care.

We in New Jersey must protect access to time-sensitive care and prioritize the health and well-being of community members seeking birth control and pregnancy-related care, including abortion.   Passing the Reproductive Freedom Act will help protect and expand everyone’s ability to receive reproductive.  Please take action today by thanking state legislators who are sponsoring and co-sponsoring this bill (S3030/A4848).  The letter below can be cut and pasted and sent to the entire list of legislators below.   Each person will need her/his own email.  Feel free to add a personal note.    Questions:  contact Regina Branca ( rghb65@gmail.com or Carol Loscalzo ( closcalzo2@aol.com)

Dear Sponsor/Co-Sponsor:

Thank you for sponsoring/co-sponsoring the Reproductive Freedom Act ((S3030/A4848) .  We very much appreciate your strong support.   I support the bill because it upholds basic rights and justice, and respects and protects decision -making throughout pregnancy for all people regardless of race, class, sexuality, ability, gender orientation or citizenship status.  It is extremely important to me that the bill includes access to birth control and pregnancy-related care as well as abortion by breaking down medically-unnecessary restrictions that only serve to block access to care.

We agree with you that we must protect access to time-sensitive care and prioritize the health and well-being of community members seeking birth control and pregnancy-related care, including abortion.

Passing the Reproductive Freedom Act will help protect and expand everyone’s ability to

Receive reproductive health care.  Thank you!
