On Monday, May 1 beginning at 6:30 p.m. 4 of the top Democratic contenders for Governor–John Wisniewski, Phil Murphy, Raymond Lesniak and Jim Johnson–will gather to discuss key social justice issues confronting New Jersey residents. Many of thse same issues are those UULMNJ advocates for through our task forces and education/advocacy work.
The Executive branch in New Jersey is considered one of the most powerful of any state in the union. Governor Christie, thanks to his conditional veto power, has held up progressive legislation time and time again. The election on Nov. 7 2017 will be a chance to reverse that trend.
The May 1 evening event, co-sponsored by the NJ Institute of Social Justice and NJPAC, will be an important chance to hear several key candidates focus specifically on issues of social justice that affect the Garden State.
Tickets are available for free by clicking the link below, or by calling: 1-888-MY-NJPAC (696-5722).
But please hurry if you are interested–seating is limited and this promises to be a sold out event.!http://www.njpac.org/events/de

It would be terrific to have a strong UU presence at NJPAC on May 1. Please keep an eye on your email inbox for further information on a UULMNJ-sponsored gathering before the event: to discuss which questions we would want the candidates to answer and which public policy issues UULMNJ thinks will be most critical for the next Governor to address.
