Save the Date: MLK Weekend: January 12-15

Save time to celebrate the life of Martin Luther King, Jr. at one or more of the events the weekend of January 12 to 15 sponsored by the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Committee of Ridgewood and Glen Rock.

  • Friday at 7 p.m. at the Ridgewood library see the film “Juneteenth: Faith and Freedom”.  Learn the significance of America’s newest federal holiday and meet the film’s writer and narrator, Rasool Berry.  Click here for registration.
  • Saturday is a day of service for Ridgewood Senior Housing which will be accepting food donations from 10 a.m. to noon.  Most needed items: cereals, paper products, shampoo, soap and bottled water.
  • Sunday from 5;30 to 8 p.m. come to a Celebration of the Arts at the Friends to Friends Community Church, 303 Prospect St. in Ridgewood.  Join students K through 12 who are submitting artistic responses to the work of justice, civil rights, and the life of MLK.  Students must register projects by January 6.  Click here to read the flyer.
  • Monday, January 15, is the Annual Interfaith Worship Service at the Ridgewood United Methodist Church , Ridgewood at 10 a.m.
